The face of the Deep

In the beginning God created the heavens

and the earth. The earth was without form,

and void, and darkness was on the face of the

deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering

over the face of the waters.

I was thinking this as the plane flew over

Lake Michigan. On the second day

of creation God parted the waters and

made the firmament and called it heaven.

I was entranced by the dark blueness of

the sky.
